WordPress is the most popular software in the world for building websites, powering over 40% of all sites on the internet. It's free, flexible, and surprisingly easy to install — especially when your hosting provider gives you the right tools.
This guide covers two ways to install WordPress on your EDZNET hosting: using WordPress Toolkit in cPanel (the fastest method), and a manual installation for those who want to understand every step.
If you're still deciding between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress, read our WordPress.org vs WordPress.com comparison first.
Before You Begin
You'll need two things:
- A web hosting plan with EDZNET (all our plans include cPanel with WordPress Toolkit)
- A domain name registered and pointed to your hosting
If you already have both, you're ready to install.
Method 1: Install WordPress Using WordPress Toolkit (Recommended)
WordPress Toolkit is a powerful management interface integrated directly into cPanel. It's the fastest and easiest way to install, configure, and manage WordPress sites. With a few clicks, you can have a fully functional WordPress site running.
- Log into cPanel. You can access it from your EDZNET client area by selecting your hosting plan and clicking Login to cPanel
- Find WordPress Toolkit. In the cPanel dashboard, look for the WordPress Toolkit section and click on it. It's typically grouped under the Software category
- Click Install. WordPress Toolkit will display an Install button or a tile to begin a new WordPress installation
- Choose your domain. Select the domain you want to install WordPress on from the dropdown list
- Configure your site. Fill in:
- Site title: The name of your website
- Admin username: Choose a secure username (avoid "admin")
- Admin password: Use a strong, unique password. WordPress Toolkit can generate one for you
- Admin email: Your email address for admin notifications
- Select additional settings. You can optionally enable automatic updates, choose a language, and configure other settings at this stage
- Click Install. WordPress Toolkit will install WordPress on your domain, create the database, and configure everything automatically. The process typically takes less than 60 seconds
Once the installation completes, you'll see your WordPress admin URL, site URL, and login credentials. Save these details — you'll need them to access your site.
Method 2: Manual Installation (for Reference)
If you prefer a manual approach, or simply want to understand what happens behind the scenes:
- Download WordPress. Visit wordpress.org/download/ and download the latest version of WordPress
- Create a database. In cPanel, open MySQL Database Wizard. Create a new database, a database user with a strong password, and add the user to the database with all privileges
- Upload WordPress files. Extract the WordPress zip file, then upload the contents to your domain's document root using cPanel's File Manager or an FTP client
- Run the installation script. Visit your domain in a web browser. The WordPress installation wizard will appear. Select your language and click Let's Go!
- Enter database details. Provide the database name, username, password, and host (usually
localhost). Click Submit - Run the install. Click Run the installation, then fill in your site title, admin username, password, and email
- Click Install WordPress. You're done
After Installation: First Steps
Congratulations — WordPress is installed. Here's what to do next:
- Log into your admin dashboard at
yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ - Choose and install a theme under Appearance → Themes
- Install essential plugins: Consider SEO tools, caching, security, and contact forms
- Configure your permalink structure: Go to Settings → Permalinks and select Post name for clean, SEO-friendly URLs
- Create your first page or post and start building your content
Managing WordPress with WordPress Toolkit
Beyond installation, WordPress Toolkit gives you ongoing management capabilities for all your WordPress sites from a single dashboard:
- Bulk updates — Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins across multiple sites at once
- Security hardening — Apply security best practices with one click
- Staging environment — Clone your site to a staging copy for testing changes before going live

These features make WordPress Toolkit an essential tool for anyone managing one or more WordPress sites — whether you're a business owner running a single site or an agency managing dozens.
