SSL Checker

Check any website’s SSL certificate: when it expires, whether it matches the domain, whether browsers trust it, and whether visitors are always sent to the secure version.

Use port 443 for websites. Other ports check the certificate on cPanel, webmail and secure email (IMAP, POP3, SMTP).

Expiry

See exactly when the certificate runs out — and whether it’s the kind that renews itself, so you know if auto-renewal is quietly failing.

Chain & trust

A missing intermediate certificate works on some desktops but breaks phones and apps. We check the full chain the way they do.

HTTPS redirect

We check that http:// sends visitors to https:// and whether HSTS is on, so nobody lands on the insecure version.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my site say “Not secure”?
Either there’s no valid certificate (expired, wrong domain, self-signed or untrusted), or the page loads over http:// instead of https://. This checker shows which. If the certificate is fine but the warning remains, the page is probably loading images or scripts over http:// (“mixed content”).
My certificate is valid but some visitors get an error.
Usually an incomplete chain: the server isn’t sending the intermediate certificate. Desktop Chrome often fills the gap itself; phones, older devices and other servers don’t. Reinstall the certificate with its CA bundle.
Does free SSL (AutoSSL / Let’s Encrypt) renew itself?
Yes — these certificates last 90 days or less and renew automatically while the domain points at the server. If one is close to expiry and hasn’t renewed, the usual cause is DNS pointing elsewhere, or a domain that’s been removed from the account.
Do I need a paid certificate?
For most websites, free AutoSSL is enough — browsers show the same padlock. Paid certificates add longer validity, a warranty, organisation validation (OV/EV) and support. How to choose.
What does the www warning mean?
The certificate covers example.co.uk but not www.example.co.uk (or the other way round). If both addresses point at your site, visitors who type the other one will see a warning. Add both names to the certificate.
