How to Update Your cPanel Contact Email and Notifications Print

  • 0

cPanel sends important notices to a contact email address: warnings when you're close to your disk quota or bandwidth limit, password change confirmations and, if you choose, login alerts. This article shows you how to set that address and choose which notifications you get.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Preferences › Contact Information.
  3. Enter your main Email Address, and optionally a Second Email Address.
  4. Under Contact Preferences, tick the notifications you want, such as when the account is close to its disk quota or bandwidth limit, when the password changes, or when someone logs in.
  5. Click Save.

Good to know

  • Use an address that isn't hosted on this account. If your mailbox is full or your hosting has a problem, a warning sent to an address on the same account may never reach you. A personal Gmail or Outlook.com address makes a sensible second address.
  • Keep it current. Quota warnings give you time to tidy up before email starts bouncing. See how to check disk space and bandwidth usage.
  • This is separate from your client area details. Invoices, renewal reminders and service emails from EDZNET go to the address on your client area profile. See how to update your contact and billing details.
