How to Use Feature Lists to Control cPanel Features Print

  • 0

A feature list decides which tools appear in a customer's cPanel. You might hide tools a basic plan shouldn't have, or ones you'd rather manage for the customer yourself. Feature lists are attached to packages, so every account on a package gets the same set of tools.

Create a feature list

  1. Log in to WHM and go to Packages › Feature Manager.
  2. Under Add a new feature list, enter a name such as basic and click Add Feature List.
  3. Tick the features you want to include. Use Select all features to start from everything, then untick what you don't want.
  4. Click Save.

Edit a feature list

  1. Go to Packages › Feature Manager.
  2. Under Manage feature list, choose the list from the drop-down and click Edit.
  3. Tick a feature to enable it or untick it to disable it, then click Save.

The change applies straight away to every account whose package uses that list.

Assign a feature list

  1. Go to Packages › Edit a Package (or Add a Package for a new one).
  2. Under Settings, choose your list from Feature List.
  3. Click Save Changes. Every account on that package now uses the list.

To give one account a different set of tools, move it to a package that uses another list. See creating, editing and deleting packages.

Delete a feature list

  1. Go to Packages › Feature Manager.
  2. Under Manage feature list, choose the list and click Delete, then confirm.

Switch any packages that use the list to a different one first, so their accounts don't lose tools unexpectedly.

Good to know

  • You can only offer features your own reseller account has. Anything not available to you won't appear in the list.
  • Think twice before hiding tools customers use to look after their own accounts, such as Backup, SSL/TLS Status or Email Accounts. Hiding them tends to mean more support requests for you.
