This guide shows you how to add your EDZNET email address to the Mail app on an iPhone or iPad, set how often it checks for new mail, and change the "Sent from my iPhone" signature.
Option 1: install a profile from cPanel (quickest)
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and log in to cPanel.
- Go to Email › Email Accounts and click Connect Devices next to your address.
- Under Mail Client Automatic Configuration Scripts, tap the iOS option. This downloads a configuration profile.
- Open the Settings app, tap Profile Downloaded near the top, then tap Install and enter your email password when asked.
Option 2: add the account manually
- Open Settings. On iOS 18 and later go to Apps › Mail › Mail Accounts. On iOS 17 go to Mail › Accounts. On older versions it's Passwords & Accounts.
- Tap Add Account › Other › Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, your full email address (e.g.
you@example.co.uk), your email password and a description, then tap Next. - Make sure IMAP is selected at the top.
- Under Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server, enter
mail.example.co.ukas the host name, your full email address as the user name, and your email password. Use the exact server name from Connect Devices if it shows a different one. - Tap Next. Your iPhone checks the details, which can take a minute. Leave Mail switched on and tap Save.
The full list of ports and settings is in email settings for mail apps.
Set how often it checks for mail
IMAP accounts don't support push on iPhone, so Mail checks on a schedule. In Mail Accounts (or Accounts), tap Fetch New Data, select your account and choose Fetch, then pick a schedule such as Every 15 Minutes. You can check at any time by pulling down on your inbox.
Change your signature
Go to Settings › Apps › Mail › Signature (or Settings › Mail › Signature on older iOS), then replace "Sent from my iPhone" with your own text. You can set a different signature for each account.
Troubleshooting
- "Cannot verify server identity": the server name doesn't match the security certificate. Use the server name shown on the Connect Devices page.
- Can receive but not send: under the account's Outgoing Mail Server › SMTP settings, check that your user name and password are filled in and SSL is on, with port 465 (or 587).
- Everything stopped after a password change: update the password on every device. A device that keeps retrying the old password can get your connection blocked. See how to get your IP unblocked.
